I've been suffering with social anxiety for all my life. It's getting worse and I'm not sure where to start to try and fix this. When I get a bad attack I have terrible insomnia and need to use the bathroom and have terrible nausea. It makes it worse just to think I have a problem. I'm pushing my family and friends away and in turn feeling more anxious about being anxious. I'm afraid they won't understand :(

Therapy and possibly medication are the best places to start. Confide in a close friend, they might not fully understand but they can at least be someone who will listen to you.

I agree with Ed. Don't hide it . Don't be ashamed of it. Get help and your life will be normal.
