On my 12 day of 20mg dose taking 25mg Librium once a day as well. I'm. 35 years old and started getting panic attacks when I was about 23. Was on Lexapro for probably 12 years and the sexual side effects (delayed ejaculation) was the reason I stopped it. Well after being completely off all meds I've had 2 panic attacks in a matter of a week. So I'm trying Viibryd. The nausea and diarrhea have subsided and I'm hoping this is better than Lexapro.

Good luck. I tried it for 2 days and it was awful. Maybe If I would have stuck it out the side effects would have gone away but it was messing with my sleep and I couldn't keep taking it.

Never had any issues with my sleep from it. Definitely the nausea and diarrhea but it seemed to pass. I'm hopeful it works as I really don't want to go back to Lexapro.?

It gave me sleep paralysis where you are asleep but you think you are awake. It was so weird.

Yeah I've had that before from another SSRI but can't remember which one. It's always a pain to get the right meds but once you do then life gets back to normal.

How long were you off meds? I was on Lexapro too for about 3 years and it just stopped working for me this fall.

I was on 40mg Lexapro for at least 10 years. I talked to pdoc about the delayed ejaculation and she prescribed Wellbutrin along with it. Didn't work. So I told her I wanted to wean off slowly in which she didn't agree it was a good idea. I was completely off all meds in October. Felt amazing. I was able to feel happy and sad instead of just one emotion on Lexapro. Granted I didn't have panic attacks or anxiety while on the meds so it was worth it. On 3-3-14 I was at work and the panic attack hit like a hurricane. Been so long since I've had one I went to to the ER. Of course I knew it was a panic attack but I couldn't convince myself of it. Next day back to my pdoc to start Viibryd. Then this pas Tuesday 2:30am wake up in a full panic attack. Took everything I had not to go back to the hospital. My pdoc prescribed me 25mg librium daily until the Viibeyd kicks in. So I will never try to get off SSRI again.

Day 16 on 20mg Viibryd side affects have passed and feeling pretty good. No more nausea or diarrhea.

I was put on viibryd as a trial to find a good med for me.. it made me go blind for a little over a week.
I am glad to read that you are feeling better now though. :)

Just bumped up to 30mg daily and feel great. First two weeks I experienced the usual side effects from this drug which is nausea and diarrhea. That has passed completely. Have not experienced any sexual side effects thus far. About 2 weeks now on the 30mg dose so about 6 weeks total in Viibryd.

I had complete shutdown after bumping up to 20 mg on Paxil. I just couldn't get to the top of that damn hill. Lol. One of the reasons I bumped it back to 10mg then eventually weaned off it. At 10 mg...I could function about 90 percent of the time sexually. It just felt like a big disconnect with the brain on one hand and the act on another. Just too unpleasant an experience for me personally being married and having to explain myself. Lol.

Yeah on Lexapro I could only ejaculate maybe 25% of the time. Then the girls would start to ask if it was them or they weren't attractive enough and even had girls cry thinking it was their fault. I used to bring up the drug online and show them that this is a known side effect. I've had the uncomfortable conversation too many times. So far on Viibryd I've had no sexual side effects but again it's been 6 weeks since I've been on it. So I'm hopeful it remains this way.

That's good to hear it doesn't effect that for you. At least for me ..... It was my wife....and she said the same things .... But I showed her to and she understood. In any sense..... It was the main reason I got off Paxil. Anxiety definitely increases when you can't perform and it's not your fault but the drugs.

My nephew has trouble with the sexual side effects of the SSRI's. He's 28. Should I recommend Viibryd to him or do you think there are too many possible side effects? It sounds like it may be stronger than some of the other SSRI's. Thanks!

I'm probably on 6 weeks now of Viibryd and the only side effects were diarrhea and upset stomach lasted at the most 2 weeks. I've not experienced any other side effects, in fact I feel great. No sexual side effects up to this point. Main thing is you must take this drug with food.

No problem! Just tell him not to read too much about it as with any SSRI everyone reacts differently. My experience has been all positive.

I've started this Medication on 3/4/14 and I've been steady on a 30 mg dose with zero anxiety and have yet to experience any sexual side effects. With Lexapro I was on 40mg for over 10 years and experienced severe delayed ejaculation in which many times I never ejaculated at all. The first few weeks of Viibryd I did have a lot a diarrhea and upset stomach but it completely passed. I'm very happy with this medication.
