Hey to anyone who may read this I'm christine :)
I'm not actually new to this place as I come on here sometimes when my anxiety is bad and just read through the posts to see how other people with anxiety feel but today decided to register and maybe get chatting to a few of you !
In a way even though I would never wish my anxiety upon another person it is kind of comforting knowing that other people go through what I feel like on a day to day basis and I know I'm not going mad !
A little about me and my anxiety then ... It started just after my youngest child was born nearly 9 years ago now and although I have managed to make myself better from what I was last year I have kind of just learnt to live with my anxiety as a part of me that's never going to go away ,, I have good days and bad days ,, today is a bad day hence why I'm on here !
It would be nice to start chatting to others with anxiety .. I'm a very good listenener and maybe I could give advice myself to help you .. I always find it better if I talk about my feelings with someone else when I'm feeling low so If I can be that listener for someone else I will gladly do so :)

Chrissie!!!!! :D :D

It says you live in Bolton, so i thought I'd try brighten up your day.

You sure need it living there ;)

I'm glad you signed up...

I hear ya about it being nice to know there are others. I only knew about 2 people that had suffered anxiety when mine first begun 4 years ago. I felt so weird really. I'd have loved somebody to say 'Hey, don't sweat the little symptoms, you're ok'... My doctor tried, but it just wasn't the same hearing it from a perfectly healthy doctor who'd only read about anxiety from a text book.

Just into some threads and chat. Why not. As you advise others, the advice sinks into your own head too. It's cool. They say the best way to learn something is to teach it :D

Hi Chrissie,

Welcome! Sharing experiences and giving out a little wisdom is what we are all about!

I've suffered with anxiety and depression issues for the better part of 25 years. I wish back then there were forums like this were around.

For the most part I am anxiety free, but every so often I hit a speed bump and get thrown off. Everyone here have helped me through a rough spot and in thanks, I try to help others too. I see it as part of my continuing recovery.

So with that, welcome!

Looking forward to getting to know you!
Cheers!
~Pam

Talking about it does help and it's helpful to see how other people cope, or to get an encouraging reply when you need to vent. I'm glad you signed up :)
