Hi everyone, I am new and will be posting an introductory post as well but seeing how I need the help asap, I thought this post was to be first priority for myself.

I have been diagnosed with PTSD, TMJ (jaw disjoint problem), Depression, GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and a few other things; one I had battled to the end and am now healed but I still suffer from anxiety. I am on a Benzo called "Clonezepam" and have been coming off of it since the end of last year and it seemed to go well. While I was sick with the other things mentioned and the one unmentioned, I suffered constant popping, clicking and rushing in my ear and it drove me nuts. It went away for a while when I was healed of my unmentioned disorder (it's unmentioned for privacy reasons), which caused less stress. Then, my stress increased with more drama and since then my ears started popping, clicking and rushing again....alll.....the.....time. I have seen Dr's who told me my ears are 100% fine and one told me to "stop thinking about it" and the others told me it was likely from anxiety. So, I am stuck. I have heard from people on forums that coming off a Benzo can cause tinnitus symptoms but when I mentioned this to my Dr's they didn't support it. So! Has anyone with anxiety had or have this? Is there ANYTHING I can do to stop this or help with it?? Please, I really thank you in advance for any help and in reading my post!

Hi, Heather and welcome

My left ear has been ringing constantly for 5 years. Never stops

I too had TMJ when my anxiety was bad and both ears would do the same thing you describe.

When my anxiety lost the battle, those symptoms ceased

When I do get stressed these days, my ears will start doing the same thing

Once I didn't fear what those symptoms were, I know they go away so it stops when I the stress lightens up

I wouldn't be concerned with what you are feeling. Just a pain in the ass and nothing more

Hi Frankie, thanks for the response and the welcome! I just realized I posted this post in the introductory area (which works, yes, but now I'll re-post it to another area as well, for more traffic). Thanks for your honesty in not being able to help and for the support you did give; it's a help :)

Thanks! I hope so too!

Hi NixonRulz and thanks for your reply as well; it's much appreciated! Thanks for the welcome too! I don't know how I could bear ringing for 5 years; I hope you're ok! I hope you find a cure or ailment for it sometime! I have TMJ for stress reasons and unfortunately, abuse reasons. Yeah it sucks. I'm comforted to hear that you shared the same symptoms as I currently do. Thanks for making me feel normal! :) I have to ask, how did you beat your anxiety? Therapy? I am in therapy every other week for an hour, have been for years now and therapy is a God-send. So, you're not thinking and worrying about the ear symptoms helped them go away?? I am going to try this!! Can't hurt! ;)

Thanks again!

Heather

I have gotten used to the ringing believe it or not

Some days I need to keep the tv on when I go to sleep so it drowns the ringing out

Therapy was a joke for me. Pointless. All 3 were worse off than I in many ways

Reading Claire Weekes books were what I read and it quickly changed my mind how I looked at anxiety disorders

Read her work and it will change everything for you

Hi Heather !

Welcome! You have found a really good place here!

I have some experience with this, it was about 10 years ago. As mentioned before, once you get your anxiety levels under control you should get some relief.

What strategies do you have in your bag of tricks to combat anxiety? If you don't have many, do lots of reading here and ask lots of questions. There is so much experience here, someone's tricks may work for you.

We are a diverse group here, from all over the world. We can be a little silly sometimes but we are all about helping others and each other!

Cheers!
