Med switch

I've been taking 20 mg fluoxetine every morning for 18 days but I've been dealing with real bad nausea and vomiting. My psychiatrist wants me to try Paxil he thinks it might be more tolerable to my system. He wants me to take it at night before bed 20mg. Has anyone made this switch before or have experiences with Paxil? I've got generalized anxiety disorder and panic attacks that I've just had pop up about a month ago. Hoping my medication and talk therapy will help.

My computer is not alerting me to unread post now for some reason..Sorry. I do know that Prozac is a great medication but I don't know much about Paxil friend..Paxil is kind of a rareity around here too but Prozac is much more common.
Do you take it with food??...And it still does this??

I was just on 10mg prozac for exactly 2 weeks prescribed from my Dr & when I went to see a Psychiatrist, she switched me over to Paxil. Tonight will be day 3 of Paxil. She started me off taking half at night 10mg & then after 1 week move up to the whole 20mg. So were both in the waiting process now together :) I have GAD & acute agoraphobia. I'm also taking Xanax though to help me until my meds kick in..

I wanted to know how you were doing...I also suffer from extreme anxiety/panic/fear disorder. I was on fluoxetine for 6 weeks and went off. It was not helping..I am starting liquid celexa today..They give me the liquid form because I am so med sensitive. I am supposed to start the celexa today and I am freaking out...How is the paxil doing for you?? Hope you are doing better. debbie

I really like that you have been told to take it before bed, when I was on antidepressants bed worked the best for me, didn't feel side effects as severely as when I took them in the morning.
