Got taken off Prozac & put on Paxil..

Anyone on Paxil?

no, but i've only heard good things about it really. why did you get taken off prozac? how long were you on it?

Oh good!!! :)

Well I was on 10mg prozac for 2 weeks & it was prescribed by my regular dr.. So today I went to talk to a medicine psychiatrist & after telling me I had GAD & acute agoraphobia, she said I shouldn't of been put on prozac..

I guess Paxil is like strictly for anxiety & panic.

horrible to withdraw from. It takes my friend one year :(

Your psychiatrist is right. Don't worry about withdrawing from it. Concentrate on getting better. Paxil will certainly help you stop having symptoms. Good luck!

You're right.. I can deal with the withdrawal later.. For now, I need my life my back :)

Yes, the psychiatrist told me it'll make me really tired.

I find that curious. Were you given any explanation? Are you taking any other medication?

She said it'll help me sleep because right now I've been taking Xanax to sleep so she wants me to take the Paxil instead..
