I hate dose increases because while they are mostly necessary, they make me feel anxious and uncomfortable for a few days. In your all's experience, how long after a dose increase did it take for the upped dosage effects to go away? I upped mine this past Saturday ... starting feeling anxious Sunday ... still feeling that way. Any insight?

Physiologically, two weeks is often enough for stuff to settle a bit. Differs of course, but most of the drug leaflets for SSRIs say after two weeks side effects decrease and mood begins to rise a little culminating in you feeling a bit bitter by the 6-8 week mark.

Of course, if the drug ramps up your anxiety, and that anxiety doesn't get settled in your mind, if you keep it alive, things can last a lot longer :)

And lemme think, in my experience, on Prozac it was... Around 2 weeks, on Citalopram around 5 days. On Remeron 3 days.

great thanks jessed! i was feeling pretty good on 100mg but still having obsessions so pdoc wanted to raise to 150 ... started that this past saturday knowing i'd have anxiousness in the beginning. I also just generally feel "uncomfortable" that's really the only way to describe it. Guess i'll wait it out again.

NP!
Uh yeah, Remeron made me feel that way, it's horrible. I would be surprised if by next Sunday you still felt that way though. Shouldn't last too long. Dose increases are always a little easier than start up don't you find?

What are you on, Zoloft? How'd ya like it for obsessions? I took Celexa for mine. It was average. Luckily I had amazing therapy, so that kind of made up for it, but I kind of wanted to switch quite frequently whilst taking it.

Luvox ... wasn't sure about it at first, but i've heard it takes a lot longer to take effect than some of the newer SSRI's. Still not completely sold though, so we'll see.

Oh right, Luvox! That's meant to be one of the best for OCDish stuff.

Good luck with it, of course, miss cat :)

Are you doing any therapy for your obsessions, is it helpful?

I liked the method in the brain lock book, that helped me quite a bit. My obsessions were on bodily sensations, breathing mainly. 24/7 I'd consciously try and breath, and get in a dizzy, hyperventilating mess.

I am doing therapy ... I'm not sure if it's helping or not. I always feel a little stressed when I leave there, but that's probably normal.

I will have to look into that book. Thanks for the tip!

Hey Jesse d! I was doing great until yesterday but there are some external stressors that really set me off. Mostly work stuff. Trying to see past it and not let it get me down, but it's hard!

Why thank you Acat. :)

Somebody who pronounces my name as Jesse D, instead of jessed. Everybody calls me jessed. What kind of name is jessed?!!

Sorry to hear life's not all that fun right now. What do you do for work?
