I've been on 20mg of Lexapro for a few months now (had tried a few other medications previously), and decided to start taking magnesium about a week ago because I always seem to have a high body temperature and sweat a lot! I'd heard it's good for anxiety too so thought it would be a win win situation. Ever since I started taking it my whole body has been aching non stop. I've had a continuous headache for days and am in agony. I've read this can be from a number of reasons and am going to try get a doctors appointment tonight but was wondering if anyone on here has had this experience before and if they know what caused it?

Well it doesn't look like the picture posted... But it's natures way high strength magnesium 600mg. A pharmacist recommended it to me but didn't know I was also on Lexapro.

Ugh, you're an Aussie aren't you :p

Does it tell you the dose of B6 it has in it?

B6 sensitivity can cause muscle pain and killer headaches. Don't know whether it's high enough, or whether they just put a little in.

If it was me, I'd skip a couple of days and halve the dose. Or even not take sups at all and just use Epsom salt. Bathing in that is just too relaxing. Full of magnesium too. :)

Thanks! I'm thinking of stopping it for this week and seeing how I go. What are the benefits of Epsom salt??? Is there any other way of taking it?

Everyone with high stress levels is more or less depleted. It's called natures muscle relaxer. It's a little bit of a sedative. Meant to help you sleep and stay calm.

Just a thought, you may want to look at the lexapro causing the sweating. When I was on them I would break out in a sweat in the middle of winter for no reason. I believe that sweating is a side effect of some meds, especially Effexor.

I've been taking a magnesium powder called, "Calm". I started having muscle cramps & stomach aches. I lowered the dose and it seems to have improved. I'm not convinced after taking it for three weeks that it's helped with anxiety at all. But that's just me, we're all so different!
