I've been held back by (mostly mild) chronic anxiety since about age 10- Mean time, I've tried everything from cannabis, to green tea, to talk therapy, to exercise, to hot baths, not to mention 20 years of meditation practice. Only thing that seems do any good is benzos, which were a revelation about 3 weeks ago when I started taking .5mg of Etilaam 3 times a day. I can actually sleep at night, get some work done during the day, and talk to people while not freaking out to one degree or another all the time.
My current fear is dependency on or tolerance to the drug. At this point, it's an acceptable risk, but I'd really like to hear that someone has successfully managed their anxiety over the long term.

A Thienodiazepine is what you are taking. Etilaam. Not only does it get better it leaves completely.
Glad you found this helps you, now enjoy the moment, and watch yourself grow, keep up all the other good habits, and eventually you may not want to take the drug anymore,
but only as you are comfortable. No worries about tomorrow, just be here now. One day at a time. Long term settling is probably, not just possible.
Peace

^ What part of Florida, Jay? It's cloudy right now!
Oh, and welcome to the forums :) ..I'm glad you've found a drug that works for you. I don't know about long term solutions as anxiety is something of a roller coaster, coming and going in waves of different intensity, but if this is working for you now, great!

Wow, you're all over the state this weekend.. If you don't mind my asking, work related or fun? --hopefully fun! My job always has me going all over the state. Mainly between Ocala, Gainesville, and Chiefland.. but for any reason, the sun is out today! So go get that sunshine ;)

Splendid. Although I have never been to a tea ceremony, but judging from Frankie's envy, it must be good? What do you do? Taste a bunch of different Japanese teas? Learn how to make delicious tea?

More of a spiritual practice. There's a short (10 min) video on YouTube, but I can't post links yet. It's the first result if you search "morikami tea ceremony" in YouTube.
