Does it go red too?
My knees and feet go bright red and burn like mad when I'm stressed (I found this out in my early teens whilst stressing about practicing my music) - I assumed it was because stess and anxiety can set of a series of inflammatory cascades which leads to redness and burning. Not sure though! That's just my guess!

I didn't feel anxious when it happened though .. it just came on suddenly. It did go a bit red. Seems to have went away now.

Glad it's gone! This might be a silly question, but had you been using a mobile/cell phone before it happened?

My ear goes red and hot when I've been using a phone - and it burns! It took me quite a while to realise that it was probably due to the radiation from my phone! :/

you need to do something rather than worry that much. it is not the way to get over anxiety. :)
