Hey there!

Let's start off with the basics. My name is Tori, I am eighteen and a half years old and located in Australia. I was 'diagnosed' with anxiety approximately ten months ago, but started suffering from it a bit over a year ago.

If you're okay at maths, you can see that it didn't take me long to get help. However those two months were probably the longest, hardest two months I have experienced yet. Some say that ignorance is bliss, but for me that wasn't exactly the case. Don't get me wrong, these past ten months have been a roller coaster of emotions and experiences, and day by day I was forced to face a challenge, whether that be getting through the twenty-four hours ahead, calming myself down from a panic attack or dealing with something new that life wanted to throw at me.

It is difficult to pin point what exactly set me off, but at the time I was graduating high school, throwing myself into my first serious relationship, loosing my virginity, dealing with the loss of that relationship twice, and trying to find my place in the world in regards to both a career and discovering myself. To this day, I believe that it was the bulk of overwhelming life changes that pushed me to spiral downwards.

Unfortunately I am still dealing with majority of these factors due to my anxiety, and disastrously enough these are the components keeping my anxiety intact.

After a 'gap year', which in Australia means a year of working rather then studying between graduating high school and moving onto further education, I identified what career area I wish to apply myself in. In just over a week I start university to study a Bachelor in Psychology, to assist myself and others through difficulty such as I am experiencing now.

I joined this forum not only to try and help myself by meeting others similar to me, but also to discover myself and my potential to help others. Therefore, I will most likely post my experiences, opinions and downfalls online. I only hope that you can help me during the difficult times just like I plan to help you.

Feel free to add me as a friend, follow my posts or message me if you would like to.

Until next time, :)
