Last Monday I was switching from 10mg lexapro to 50mg luvox. no titration of the lexapro. last week i felt awful, this weekend was worse, but monday and tuesday I started to feel a little better. my doc said that i could have been feeling so bad because of coming off the lexapro, even though it was replaced with another ssri.

Yesterday (wednesday), I upped my dosage of luvox to 100mg per docs instructions. Yesterday I felt like i was hit by a horse tranquilizer. I got home from work and just laid in bed (not tired enough to go to sleep, just to lay) until 10:30, took my sleeping pill, was up at 5 am but could not get out of bed and had to drag myself to work.

Wondering if this is the dosage increase and if it will go away? If so, when? I am just wanting to feel better and i know it can't happen overnight, but I am getting rather impatient. I also know everyone is differently, but about how long will it take???

DOSING: The usual starting dose for adults is 50 mg daily given as a single dose at bedtime. The dose may be increased in 50 mg increments every 4-7 days to achieve the desired response. The maximum dose is 300 mg/day. Doses greater than 100 mg should be administered as a divided dose. When using extended release tablets the starting dose is 100 mg at bedtime and the maximum dose is 300 mg.

I think you feel ok and you will get used it. Give it about 3 weeks, it seems to be a good meds. I can not take any SSRI, but Luvox is SSRI, is not it? I have some expierence with benzos being on them for years, and now I use a small dose, less than the doc prescribed, once a day 0.5 Clonazepam, Ativan when the panic attack hits, which is rare now....
I hope you will feel better in a few days.

it is an SSRI, yes. Moreso used for OCD these days, but it is an SSRI. I am so impatient. I just want to feel better. My doc also said I could take ativan daily as needed but I don't want to just keep adding things to the mix. I want to really be able to to tell if the Luvox will work or not.

Yes, I understand, but you need to give it the time, its need to accumulate in your bloodstream then you will see the difference, I would say Ativan for a short time like two or three weeks is ok to take,,,try not to keep it taking regularly more than that. In mean time the pills will start working:))
