this was a big issue of mine a few years ago and the last few days its come back again and its freaking me out. i hate it just want to feel normal.

I agree with Frankie, anxious and you usually breathe shallow

I still do that when I am zoned out daydreaming of something.

That I either yawn or get a heart palpitation to let me know I'm screwing up my breathing again

I am in the same boat as you. I notice how shallow i'm breathing and try to counter act by deep-slow techniques but by then it's too late.

Try googling sniper breathing techniques, it doesn't mean you want to be a sniper or anything but sniper's have one of the best breathing tactics because they train to slow heart rate and calm your body before the big act. Hope it helps you.
