What are some of the side effects you have noticed?

I got too nauseous on them so I had to come off of them. I felt like they made a huge difference with my palpitations though.

I did as well

Didn't help my anxiety so they shoved another pill in me

Effexor was the choice and it worked for both anxiety and palpitations

I just feel like my heart wants to do something the meds isn't allowing it to do and it feels very strange. I'm on an extremely low dose also. Very strange.

I didn't have any side effects

Maybe just a little lethargic since it knocked my BP down

The ones I take are in my bp medication, when I first started on them, I was really, really drained of energy, and I felt depressed. It's gotten better over time though. They don't help my anxiety really, but they are not for that. I am not sure how the ones for anxiety work??

what are you taking guys?
I think the feeling around your heart is pure anxiety, which is alwyas when we get a new drug:) You will be fine:)

It just feels like my heart is trying to do something the meds won't let it do,I'm gonna lower my dose. I've only gotten that feeling on that medicine, and noticed it was worse at a 20 mg dose. So I cut to ten and felt great other than that feeling, I know it's a low dose...but medicine affects me really easily. Weird.!

Maybe you just need a lower dose than prescribed?

It's a good sign that you need less

I've taken beta blockers before giving speeches or lectures for school and it helps big time. But I have noticed what you describe, ab123, when I exercise or go for a walk. If I've taken a beta blocker, it doesn't let my heart rate get to its target heart rate. It's almost like too slow, if that makes sense. It stops the production of adrenaline, right? Maybe that's why (?)

Yes I think it is directly related to the medicine, and I will try 5 mg. Enough to slow the adrenaline but not affect it so much.

That sounds like a good solution!
Good luck and I hope it works out for you :)
