Just wondering if everyone incorporates regular exercise as part if their day? I try and get done n every other day but been so tired lately due to interrupted and/or lack of sleep.

I used too...I loved it! Not much anymore but even just walking will help to keep your metabolism primed and in good shape. No reason to kill yourself bruh. (like I did)....

On 3 days a week at the moment. Building up again from scratch after getting diagnosed with a health thing.
I'm into running, mainly cos I don't get massive amounts of vitamin D any other way, seeing as I work inside :)
There's a big thread about it in the depression forum if you ever wanna get involved?

I started exercising regularly before my anxiety started a few years ago and got up to a good level of fitness with it - I could run 10 miles without any issue.
After my minor health scare which started my anxiety in February 2013, I didn't run again until last week. I figured I'd give it a go to see if it helped now. It did to start with but then I strained my thigh/groin and it's been painful since so I'm laying off it for a week or so again.
I probably went in too hard thinking that I was at my previous fitness level and I obviously wasn't :)

I've been a runner for 30 years and am sure it helps as when I have taken breaks for various reasons I don't feel as well. Exercise has proven anxiety and stress reducing effects. Helps mood too. Everything in moderation and listen to your body, it will tell you when to back off. Intensity is not key but consistency is. IMHO. Alankay

I like weight lifting and random aerobics videos. Exercise is a good source of relief for me.

Lukio...bro, I can relate! My body isn't what it used to be but my brain says it is! I've had a pulled hamstring or two. Just have to nurse it. Walking up stairs is surprisingly good for a hamstring/groin to get the juices flowing to the injured area. I wish you a quick recovery so you can get back out there. Exercise is definitely important for us with this affliction. It's good for our body chemistry. I cycle and need to get back into it. Quite honestly, I stopped in October/November because of the cold weather and my anxiety kicks up during the winter months...hmmm, correlation???

Hello PiggyStardust! That sounds like fun. What's your anxiety trigger? Exercise is definitely good relief...

I've fallen off the exercise wagon recently, but what I used to do and worked well for me are isometric exercises. My cardio pretty much comes from working outside (I used to run, but it was terrible on my knees, so now not so much) ..And a new thing I will be starting is boxing; hitting things are supposed to be a great stress reliever, as long as I keep it to a punching bag and not a wall or people.... :)

I boxed when I was younger. It's definitely a stress reliever! I suppose there no time like the present to get on with it. Exercise is definite a good thing to keep the right chemicals balanced in our bodies. Helps the depression, mood, and anxiety...
