Perspective is the answer. Look at this list, its massive, I've been in renal failure for 8 years and I haven't had this many tests. Now as harsh as this may sound death comes to all of us and no amount of worry will change it. If you are going to get ill then you are going to get ill and if god forbid that happens then you will be forced to deal with at the time and if you can accept this the worry will dissipate. Certainly though if you keep looking for something you will eventually find it. Remember this Ignorance is bliss and one thing I've learned about anxiety is sometimes you need to be determined to stay ignorant. What will happen will happen, change your perspective from focusing on what might be wrong to a focus on staying health by taking regular exercise and eating right and that sort of thing and what you will find is the new focus will push out the old one cos there ain't room for both. Sorry about the abruptness of this I sincerely hope it helps :)

A little tough love from The Lord, but a very good post.

I haven't had even half of those tests lol. Mostly just EKGs, blood tests and stuff!

EKG about 5 times
Stress Test 1 time
Holter monitor 1 time
CBC/metabolic panel about 6 times
Urine tests a dozen times (they thought I was high)
Chest X-ray 4 or 5 times
HIV test once

I've never had any CT scans or MRI's done. I've also never had any sonograms done.

Also, most of the ER docs I have come across will only do as many tests as necessary. They get ill if you try and ask for more. They will tell you to refer to your family doc for any follow-up. Usually it's an EKG, blood work and you're out the door.

The the fact that you can see its ridiculous is a really good thing. It took me 12 years to realise how silly most of my anxiety really was. Now once you realise its ridiculous you can use that as a weapon against it. Heres how. If ever you watch Dr Phil or shows of that type, you may even know people or have first hand experience but when they have people on those shows who have low self esteem from being bullied etc they all say "If you are told that you are useless enough times you start to believe it" so conversely if your told that you are brilliant enough times you will eventually believe that to. So if every time a thought about these worries comes into head you make a conscious effort to tell yourself "This is ridiculous and I haven't got time for this" (you may even have to say it out loud) then focus on something else that is positive, eventually the thoughts will stop coming because you've made it clear that they are not welcome. Its not easy at first, it can take a while but if you commit yourself to it and MEAN it, it'll work. If you think you might want to try this there is one other thing you should bare in mind and that is don't punish yourself if you have a bad day just get through it and when you wake the next morning just say to yourself "That was yesterday, its gone on now, I'll do better today". Take life one day at a time and live in the present. Hope this is useful :)

Thank u. And yes realizing that it is ridiculous is good.. and if it's because wow look at this list. But still convinced of other things.
