Just got my meds changes to 10mg of Paxil and 1mg of ativan 2x / day. So nervous about possible side effects since I've been really sensitive to meds in the past. Encouragement please?

I was on Paxil 10 mg for about 4 months. It does work..... I had my dosage upped to 20 mg and it shut me down sexually ...so I backed to 10 mg again. I have since gone off the Meds. I can tell..... But I am handling it. Ativan .5 mg here as well. Loved the Ativan.... It just plain works. Downside is it can be addictive so I used them sparingly. Give it go....just watch your dosage and how you feel. :)

Hi Reese.
I just made a switch as well. Celexa to Zoloft. I'm now on day 2 of Zoloft. I know what you mean, I am also anxious about the side effects, but so far so good. My current med combo is Zoloft 25mg, buspar 5mg in the morning and 10mg at night, and Ativan as needed.
I took celexa for 8 weeks and I felt for a long time that I wasn't getting good results with it but I was so nervous about possibly having to change that I avoided the idea and tried to persevere. Since I've made the change, I feel as though I've found a reason to be hopeful. And I feel good about that.

Hey Kris,

I was on 25 mg of zoloft and 1mg of ativan at night, they just upped it to 2mg of ativan a day and 10mg of Paxil.

What was the issue with it, if you don't mind me asking? I would have expected that your doc would have increased it before changing..or were you not tolerating it due to side effects?

Iim super sensitive to meds so I rarely go higher than the minimum dosage. For zoloft it made my anxiety and depression worse and threw me into a suicidal state. But don't be discouraged by this! Everyone's body chemistry is different and just because it made me worse doesn't mean it won't work for you
