Went to bed at a decent hour only to wake up three times throughout the night. I was able to get back to sleep but in 2 hr increments...ughhh. Now I have to get up to go to work and feeling anxious because I'm tired! I have health related anxiety issues and any little ache and pain becomes the worse thing in the world. Can't stay in cause it'll only make me feel worse. I hate this...

Thanks, Dahlia. Definitely helpful to going others going through the same struggle. Not getting sleep is really draining which adds to the anxiety!!!

What meds are you on to help sleep? I've considered them but afraid id become dependent.

I had insomnia for years, not no more. I don't take medication anymore either. I got rid of my ex and I started sleeping again... funny how that works.. Anywho, I used to take these little blue oval shaped pills. Always left a metal tin taste in my mouth but they worked like a charm, never got a hangover from the pills either. I will look on google and see if I can find what they were called, I remember exactly what they looked like so that will help I hope..

Zopiclone is what it was called.

i used to wake up when is wasnt anxious. and my anxiety came after a bad wake up at night. now i am on lexapro and i sleep like a charm, but i still wake up after 2 or 3 hours and then sleep again. my advice is you should sleep just one more time after you wake up. if you go on and on sleeping and waking up you will feel more drained. also there is a big relation between melatonin and the sun. so you should spend a lot of time in the sun or just at light in the mornings. it has worked so well for me. and dont exercise 3 hours before bed, and dont drink much water, because you would end up urinating.

Thanks for the advice Cimi! I like the idea of more sun. Makes sense. Totally agree also in trying not to eat or drink anything. Chamomile tea is helpful as well and I try to drink a cup a few hours before bedtime.

Thanks, TaliaJo! We're all in this together. It's just a crazy cycle...no sleep, feel tired/exhausted, anxiety picks up because of my health anxiety issues, can't sleep, and so it goes...
