I was doing some research online and found a couple sites that say if you take a benzo, which I do, then buspar may not work as well for you. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm on the max dose of buspar 30 mg twice a day and still having enough anxiety to take at least 2 doses of ativan every day...I'm just wondering if the ativan is somehow "canceling out" some of the buspar?

I didn't know Buspar could be any less potent than it already is. LOL
I haven't seen many cases of Buspar working but I believe Kris123 has had success
If you are on the max dose and getting no relief, maybe time for a SSRI?
They worked for me but Buspar was pointless and a waste of money

Yes. I have taken Buspar in the past with positive results. And I have recently restarted it. Too early to tell yet if it's working. I'm not sure about taking it with a benzo. I have taken it in the past with Xanax. And this time around I'm still using a low dose of Ativan at night to help me sleep.
I have been prescribed 5mg three times a day. But I'm going to adjust it and take 5mg in the morning and 10mg at night in hopes of sleeping better.
