Help please!

Have suffered with GAD for a number of years and it has been controlled by cipralex.

I have just had a small episode and the dr has advised upping my meds from 10mg to 20mgs. I am now 12 days in and have some awful symptoms - nervousness, no appetite, jaw clenching to name a few.

I this just side effects and will they settle down again? I have been on 20mg and not had a problem before - but I feel so trapped now - I could cry I'm so frustrated and feel so anxious.

Please someone tell me it will get better ...

When u up any medication it's like taking them all over again. Your body had to adjust to the new setting. Yes, it will get better. Don't give up on them because it will be worse if u jump off them. It takes a good while for them to get into your system. :)

Thanks Hun. It's do horrid isn't it - you take a medication to help your anxiety for it to cause it to get bad first :( had a real tough day today. Just praying for a better one tomorrow. I just feel so trapped :(

I can't do this / today I have vomited had the shakes and horrid nervous feeling all day. I'm on day 13 of upping my meds - want to cry but I can't. I can't eat and woke up at a silly time. This is sooo awful - I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I have work on weds and I hate the thought if struggling through everyday. x

You may need an anti anxiety med too. You know your body the best. If the medication makes you feel worse stop it, talk to your doctor. This will pass, either way. You'll need to

discuss these new symptoms with doc asap. Peace

In just hoping and praying that these side effects are just caused by upping medication - lots of people have said it will pass. x

How much longer should I give the new meds? I've gone from 10mg to 20mg and have been for 12 days.
Just when I get to the point I can't take anymore I get a little reprieve. x

When I was placed on Effexor XR it took a month to get over being sick. Peace
