Hi I am new to this forum. I suffer with both severe anxiety and depression.
The depression has been there since childhood, but the anxiety only started a few years ago.
I was involved in a tv show which was massively stressful for me. The day after I found out I was going to be doing the show I had my first ever panic attack. I was out in public and felt like I was passing out, racing heartbeat etc.
Using the Linden Method I managed to control the panic attacks but I cannot keep my anxiety at bay. It's almost all day every day. I am tense all the time, my shoulders and neck get really stiff, my fists are clenched, my jaw is clenched. My ears feel full, my head feels like it's about to explode.
Help!!

Hello there and welcome to the forum
Do you take anything to help or are you against medication?

Hey, I take Effexor 225mg but it doesn't seem to help depression or anxiety.

Funny how what works for doesn't for another

Effexor is the only thing that worked for me

If you have been on it for the recommended time for the full affect and it isn't helping, talk to your doctor about switching to something else

Takes some trial and error sometimes to find the right med that works

Unfortunately we have tried a lot of meds. The only one that worked was sertraline but it gave me problems with my heart, not good for a 29 year old.
I am starting to think medication may not be the way for me

Never heard of it. Don't they say that beta blockers increase depression and derealisation though? Sounds like I can't really win either way
