Hey everyone
My name is Bri and I'm a 22 year old living in the Basque Country (Spain). However, I'm from New Zealand originally and am just on something like a gap year.
Being in a foreign country it's hard to encounter people who understand my condition and the language can sometimes be a barrier. Even then, I expect I would have similar issues in New Zealand.
Basically, I'm just looking/hoping for a support network.

Hi Bri.. and a very welcome to the forums ! ..The Kia ora and Kaixo.. what language is that? I can't even place it.. is it something unique to New Zealand and the Basque Country ?
But anyway, just to second what Dahila's said; you're totally in the right place if you're looking for a support network.. there's plenty of it here.. :)

I loved the country and people, I was very welcome there, . I had all contracts for work there, I worked in my profession, but but the bull killing turned me off.... I still miss this beautiful country.. Basques are very proud people, I have some friends from there :))

NeverTooFear: Kia ora is hello in Maori (the native people from NZ) and Kaixo is hello in Basque :) Glad to know there's plenty of support to be had. I've had anxiety on and off from a young age, but have only just accepted it's not just a passing thing.
Dahlia: Yes, the Basques are incredibly proud people and are a bit harder to crack than your average Spaniard. Still, once you've got a friend... you've got a friend for life. They're so giving and just want me to have the best experience I can.

Thanks, Venga. Languages are pretty interesting to me so I appreciate the explanation :) ..yeah, sometimes anxiety comes and goes for a while, then sometimes it just wants to stick, plant itself down and say, "Hey, I'm not going anywhere." To say the least, it can be a big pain, lol.. Good news is that here you can share and compare anxiety war stories and hopefully figure out a way for improvement ;)
Hi Bri and welcome :) Cool you're in Spain, my dad's side of my family are Spanish but live near La Coruna :) Plus would love love love to visit New Zealand one day, looks simply beautiful! :)

NeverTooFear: I think I just needed to pay more attention to it originally, but oh well. At least now I'm looking for a way to get better instead of plastering over the cracks.
issy: That's cool about your dad. It is cool being in Spain, but sometimes I feel like things would be much easier to handle if I were back in New Zealand! You should definitely visit NZ, it i a beautiful country.
