Hi everyone,

This is my first post so sorry if I ramble. I guess I have always been an anxious person but I had my first attack thing about 6 months ago. I was sitting on the couch and my heart just started to race and I felt like I was going to pass out and die. I was home alone so I called an ambulance and was taken to hospital with a heart rate over 150. My heart stayed over 150 for the 2 days that I was in there. The doctors ran every test they could think of but wouldn't give me anything to calm me down. The whole time I was in there they kept saying we don't know what's causing it and after 2 days they let me go home and told me to see my local doctor. They did give me a handful of benzo's to help calm me down once I was home. The next few months were spent at the doctors or in bed because I was scared something was wrong with my heart because it kept racing everyday. After a few months of tests my doctor said I had anxiety/panic disorder. I have tried 3 different ssri's but they all made me so sick that my doctor took me off them and just left me taking the benzo's. My symptoms have changed over the last few months from a racing heart and trembling on the inside to having pins and needles and being so light headed i can hardly walk. I have a very caring husband but we have only been married for a year and it feels like I'm starting to annoy him with all my problems.

I really would like to get off the benzo's and see if I can cope without medication because we want to have children. Has anyone else had these sort of symptoms and gotten better without meds. My name is Sally and I'm 28. Sorry for the long first post.

Welcome Sally. So sorry you feel like this.
I too have panic disorder and struggle daily with dizziness and lightheadedness. It's just awful.
I'm from Melbourne, 33 and have a 4 year old daughter. I had a particularly bad day today after my first day of work after 3 weeks holidays. You will find some great people here

Hi Rhar
Sorry to hear that you had a bad day today. Have you found anything that helped you with the dizziness and lightheadedness. It's good to finally talk to other people that are dealing with the same thing.

Only time has really helped... I still have bad days today was one that I really struggle...
I get spaced out feelings a lot and today I had a lot of trembling... It's really hard to focus on anything at work too...

When you say trembling can other people notice it or is it just something only you can feel. When mine first started I would wake up shaking every morning. I would ask my husband if he could feel it but he couldn't. So I guess I was shaking on the inside somehow.

This was shaking that was visible as in my hands.
I have however had internal shaking and tremors too. Used to scare the hell out of me. Sometimes it would happen in my head and I thought I needed to call an ambulance. Now I just get really shaky hands when I'm getting really worked up. I do still get internal shaking sometimes. All I think about 24/7 is how I'm feeling, trying so hard to break the habit

I know what you mean I feel like all I do these days is think about what's going on with me. It makes me feel nuts when I try and explain to my partner how I feels and he says try not to think about it. I wish it was that easy.

I haven't spoken to anyone else who feels this way until today. I'm glad I finally joined this forum. I have to learn to stop looking up my symptoms on the internet because it just makes me worry more. Have you found anything that helped you with your panic and anxiety.

Yeah my husband says "don't worry about it" if only!! Lol

My husband is my total opposite when it comes to worrying. Nothing seems to bother him while I lay awake at night worrying about everything.

This is a really good forum and there's so many people out there with this so your not alone at all :) have you had your thyroid tested and do you have low vitamin D? As they can effect anxiety
I also use lavender oils and pillow sprays at night to help relax, they are also good for all the family and if you have children, things like almonds, blueberrys, camomile tea are so
Good for busting anxiety to
relaxation apps on your phone
Are good at night to,reading about anxiety and learning about it can also help

Mine is the same!!!!
My anxiety started 18 months ago in panic attacks after I had 2 traumatic miscarriages. I still can't convince myself nothing is going to happen when the feelings hit me. So infuriating

Hi Nixonrulz

Thanks for your reply. I have tried 3 so far. One was aropax it made me so sick the doctor had to give me something else to stop me being sick. I can't remember the name of the second one but it made me shake so bad I couldn't function and I looked like I was drunk for days I couldn't hold my own head up. The third one was lexapro it gave me really bad headaches and my doctor took me off it after he found out I wanted to have children. It's all been a bit of a mess so far.

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriages Rhar. My husband thinks my panic and anxiety might have started because we are trying to have a child and it just won't happen. I didn't realise that things like that could start panic attacks. In a way I'm glad my husband doesn't worry because I couldn't handle being married to someone like myself. All we would do is worry all the time haha.

Welcome to the forum.

Lots of good for you here so settle in and relax a little more. The shaking will end. Heart palps, ringing in ears, and ruminating, this will all collapse as you find your center. We all have one, and yours is not in your awareness right now. It's still there I assure you, as you relax more and more it will pop back up. Do not fight the mind, thoughts etc. This is hard but when you let them be, they pass through. Brain wave therapy helps tremendously, get some head phones and research brain sync dot com.
Again I am sorry you are feeling ill now, but this will pass. Peace ;)

I have had my thyroid tested a few times and that came back fine. I don't think I have had a vitamin D test. Would that show up on a normal blood test.
