Stay awake for over 24 hours

Go to bed at a reasonable time and you WILL be able to sleep.

Set alarm so you wake up at a decent time.

Need to reset your body clock, i have to do this often because of my work.

Legit advice. Skip dinner that night too, so your body clock fully resets. Quite hard to do, but it works.

When I was a teenager, it used to take me anywhere from 2-4hours to fall asleep.

I found that having a routine to wind down really helps.

What I usually do these days, is after 8pm I watch TV or read until I go to sleep. I favour low lighting in the evenings too as it relaxes me. I avoid anything that makes me think too much. (forums for one!! ;) )

Also, try getting up at exactly the same time every single morning & just go to bed at roughly the same time each night when you feel tired. That will help to set your body clock.

Oh by the way - be careful if you use Melatonin & only use it short term. Yes, it is natural but it is a hormone. Messing with your hormones is a bad idea in the long term. Over here in the UK, Melatonin is Prescription Only.
