Just on a side note,
Vitamin D works best when consumed and or added too, calcium because the calcium increases the rate of actual use and absorption.
That's why it is added to milk over here, and also why when you purchase calcium, many times Vit D will be added to it...

:)

Having my anxiety come back kinda makes me question who I am. Why is anyone going to want to be around me and build a life. I guess it's all negative thinking really but I feel low with it. Trying hard to
Fight it xx

Do you like them? They are so tasty. I like eating around the edge and saving the jam bit til last. I'm such a nerd lol.

Yeah it was a good trip. Where do you live, London? There are H&Bs opening everywhere near me now!

@Richy - inadequate vitamin D levels not only worsen anxiety, but can more or less cause it. Unless you live out in the sun, every anxious person should get their levels checked, that and their vitamin B levels.

I'd copy and paste some literature, but it's so widely known I can't even be bothered to Google :)

More and more people are getting deficient too, due to working inside, or using sunscreen. Worth getting tested 100%. You just never know, your whole problem could disappear upon taking a few small vitamin pills. Ok, it's not that likely, but how silly would we all feel if that was the case, and left something sooo easy unresolved for ages.

Yeah Jesse they are ace. I love the macaroons too. I forgot to mention but the calcium is on offer too. Helps the absorption of the vitamin d. Only cost like £3 for two tubs. :). BONUS lol. X

okay so picked up some vit d3 over the weekend but not sure on how much i should be taking
each tablet is 10ug (400 I.U.) 200% of daily intake
how many of these should i take daily?

as for getting checked, my doctor rejected it last time i tried so i doubt it would be any different this time round

Being male, you want around 5000iu every day.

(This is what Mercola suggests, this is what I take, this is what PanicCured suggests taking in his supplement sticky)

if i need 5000 then that means taking like 12/13 a day, but the instructions say only take 1-2 a day

what would you say a reasonable amount would be to take per day?

Vitamin D is the stupidest RDA in the world for some reason. They still use a 60 year old figure, despite doctors now recommending around 5000ug in most cases.

Get as close to that number as you want. As for a reasonable number, you don't wanna take below 1000ug. 5000ug is optimal, especially if in a colder place. Maybe you can get a higher dose next time if you want. I used to have to do the same, take 10 pills
But they were tiny, so it wasn't too bad.

Funny to read this thread. I had just asked a girl in a triathlon forum where she gets tested to determine vitamin D deficiency because she had mentioned that
she got a test and we live in the same city. There is a vitamin D thread in that triathlon forum totally unrelated to anxiety and I didn't even know that it had any influence
on anxiety. Apparently the lack of vitamin D is responsible for a lot of physical problems like a weak immune system. Most people who live on Northern countries have a deficiency.
I wanted to get myself tested soon. Now I'm curious if Vitamin D will also have an effect on my anxiety.

Either way, it's a good idea to get checked for a deficiency and if so, take supplements.

I was kind of praying I had low levels when my attacks were bad, hoping for an easy fix, but wasn't to be

Vitamin D is like a hormone, so deficiency really can affect so much, brain chemistry too.

Every anxious person should check their levels, I completely agree.

If you're low, it will affect it. Good idea to get checked :)

Since I used to live in the tropics and had more sun than I needed, I know
that Vitamin D deficiency isn't the cause of my anxiety but I guess that that a lack might make anxiety worse
just like too much caffeine will make it worse.
