Hello all,
My name is Micah, and I am currently living in Boston, MA. I was born and raised in northern Maine, and recently have been overcome with a lot of issues regarding my anxiety, some of which I likely will be posting topics about today.
I hope to eventually conquer, or at least better cope with, my fears and anxiety-driven issues I have been faced with as of late. I found this forum after a brief google search, and I am happy to see such a large community of people with sympathy and empathy for people who face similar adversities.
Best,
Micah

Thanks, guys.
I hope I can communicate my issues and feelings well here. Typically I have so many things flying around in my brain that I can't seem to muster a complete thought into a flowing statement.

Hi Micah, I too just joined, and I am also from Boston! I have been suffering from the panic/anxiety disorder all my life (off and on). I have been in therapy for almost 2 years..i have learned something, but I am still not a 100% panic free. I have come a long way though, but for me, the problem is, I am a negative person by nature, and when you are negative (i.e. your glass is half empty), you are your worst enemy. I am very cheery and happy to everyone around me, but those people don't know me. I am pretty negative :)
Anyway, by now, I should have already known my patterns, and, you would think, I would have gotten rid of this stupid anxiety, but it's not easy for me. Loss of control ;)

Hello fellow Bostonian!
You're very fortunate to have access to therapy and be able to make progress facing your issue! I am envious.
I, too, tend to have a negative outlook. I am a big "what if" kind of person. Must be this Boston air ;)

Just an observation about this post -
What is interesting is you say you are a "negative person by nature"
That couldn't be further from the truth. You learned that behavior over the years. You certainly weren't born that way.
In no way am I making light of your statement but when I see that you feel you have made great progress, one has to wonder if you were a "positive person by nature", would you have completely beaten anxiety?
If you continue to say and act like someone negative, you will fulfill that prophecy.
If you decide today that you are a positive person and begin to act on it, guess who just changed their personality?
Your mind is the only roadblock that can ever stop you.

While I am not from Boston, I just joined also! I've been in therapy for about ten months now, and while I have learned some tools and strategies to cope with it, it still lingers a lot!
