Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and I just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Mandie and I'm 15. I struggle with GAD, social anxiety and panic attacks. I always feel an underlying uneasiness, no matter the mood I'm in - and I can recall events where I've felt so anxious I ended up vomiting. Since I was younger I always worried, it was uncontrollable and I knew a child that age shouldn't worry about the things I was worrying about. I only got diagnosed in early 2013. It's my worst enemy, and no-one I know goes through what I go through, so I registered here so I didn't feel so alone. Hello :)

Hey mandiee
It's cool to meet you. Sucks you're suffering so young! Plenty of people here, of all ages, so darn right, no need to feel alone :)
Have you ever spoken to any kind of professional about it? Anxiety in the teens responds well to talking therapy.
Perhaps if not, you can do so here whenever you feel like it.
See you around ;)

Hi! Yeah I was going to counselling for most of 2013, but then my counsellor said that maybe I was strong enough to cope on my own. She said I could come back at any time, but I don't know. I'd have to talk to my parents first about arranging it! Thanks for the welcome :)

I don't know to be honest, sometimes I do, when nothing's happening, then something small happens and I'm like lead to tears worrying about it so much. I try not to think about it but that only makes it worse lol. In those moments I don't feel strong and then other times I do :P

Makes sense!
How are you socially? Do you have friends, are your grades good, do you have a bf?
How much does your anxiety affect your life?

Umm, I used to do this thing where if I was in a social situation and it scared me I'd take myself out of it, so I haven't really made any close connections with people :/ yeah they're ok, except for maths, that subject gives me the most anxiety D: nope I don't, partly because if a guy even looks my way I run and hide xD I made a New Years resolution to not let anxiety control my life but I'd say it has affected my life a bit more than I'd like it to ><

That's kind of an answer I didn't want you to give ;)
Not cos it's bad or anything, it just sucks anxiety has had an influence on your life. Butttt you are still so young, so who knows what the future brings!
You seem really nice, so the whole friend/bf thing when you want it, should come naturally when your anxiety is a little more under control. Your grades are good, so at least it's not screwing you there. Math doesn't count, fuck it... I cheated a pass lol. The guy in front of me during the test was a 5'3 Asian kid. I could see over his shoulder.
Here's to taking back control in 2014!!!

Welcome, there are a lot of nice people on here who are always willing to listen.
I have suffered from anxiety since I was 7 years old on and off. One of the reasons I have been told, that I still have problems, is that they didn't give me the support I needed soon enough. So I'm really glad that you have been offered support early.
I know it is worrying but the sooner you can take advantage of the help, the better you will feel.

Thanks guys!
I really feel like I kinda do need to go back, but I feel bad about it. I don't know why. It's probably just that I was doing so well and to go back might make me feel like I'm worse. D:
