Just me again guys ... still in the process of moving. I sold off a lot of gear to save moving it all, and now thinking about acquiring a Bicycle when we get to the new place. Nothing fancy at all. I'm not into wearing Lycra but understand people that like to get caught up in all the paraphernalia - each to their own, whatever makes people feel comfortable I guess. For me, I feel uncomfortable in such a crowed. I just want to get a cheap bike - I might even just get a second hand one and tweak it some. I still like my walking, but figure I can so more with a Bike. I've actually been toying with the idea of a Trike:

Perhaps not the most sexy looking thing, however I think with a couple of fishing poles, Esky, Sun Umbrella and seat packed into the back ... I would look pretty cool ... Oh Yea ... couple of High Vis Flags as well!

Other option is to stick with a cheap two wheeler ... and look at a Bike Trailer. Thing is, I reackon I can maneuver better on a two wheeler and that way do better on the bike paths, than I might with the Trike on a Bike Path ... Not sure. Most cycling places are not very helpful as most people are just into the Ten Thousand dollar racing bikes.

Still researching all this. There is a lot of Bike tracks and ways in the new town I am going to, but I still don't trust drivers here in this country. I'd love to live in a cycling country!
Here is a Pram with suspension that will hold 40KG/88.1lbs which might make the cars think twice before running me off the road. The suspension may allow me to get a little rough with it over various drive ways and curbs, although I might get a few strange looks treating a pram in such a way. LOL

I might just buy it for the frame and work from that. Get some knobby tires and deck it out for the beach -

I was going to say, too bad you're not near here because I have 3 in the back yard that the kids (22,17,15) never ride anymore...well, sometimes my son does but overall, just abandoned and ignored. His is a nice one too. Very lightweight, more expensive than the girls bikes were..he's picky'er than they were.

I have ridden a trike before (although I was much younger) and I will say that they require much more quad strength to produce forward motion. At least the one I rode did. Not as "agile" as you'd mentioned.

Not sure about the wagon/pram but mostly parents tote their children around in them and they're always content too. We always just had child seats attached to ours.

If you've got leg strength, and don't need to travel from point A to B to quickly then look into the 3 wheeler.

If you don't have alot of strength at the moment, then go with the standard bike, and look for a lightweight 10 to 12 speed to get you places with much more ease. And attach a pram to the back for the poles, coolers, umbrella's..

I've got much work to do before I can ride again friend, but I always rode of course, to the gym...:)
