No idea how to beat this. I feel like I can't talk or describe how I feel fully to anyone. I'm so emotionally locked and closed. Every night my anxiety is through the roof.

Hi equuleus,

Embrace is right. Tell us about it. Everyone on here is good about listening. And it is somewhat therapeutic for you to be able to talk about it with people who will actually listen to you. That's us! :)

Regarding sleeping and anxiety, there are some things you can do to improve your chances of getting good sleep.

1. Don't watch any TV/video, play any computer games, or surf the internet within an hour of going to bed.
2. If you don't want complete silence, before bed, play soft, soothing music.
3. Turn down the lights within 30 minutes of going to bed, to help you start relaxing
4. Drink some warm milk or take a calcium supplement within 30 minutes of going to bed. Calcium is a natural sedative.
5. Turn on an air purifier or a small fan to create some white noise.

Thank you :)

Just feel like my chest is going to explode, and I'm almost to the point of nauseous pretty much every night. I really try to avoid taking Ativan as much as I can(tonight is an Ativan night).

I usually use a favourite television show/movie to help me fall asleep, otherwise I think too much. I find I need to tire my brain so I can sleep.

Interesting about the calcium though

What did you mean by your chest seeming to explode? Like fast heart rate? Chest pressure? Pain?

More like Pressure

Ativan always helped me on those kinds of nights. LOL

Nausea and chest pressure. Could be reflux up your esophagus. If you are willing to try some easy experiment... Don't eat anything (except for your calcium supplement with a little water) within 4 hours of going to bed. Prop the head of your bed or your mattress up so that it is no longer horizontal. If you are having a reflux problem, both of these things will mitigate the chance of you having symptoms at night.

That's not a bad description. And it never really goes away.

Give me a rate from 1 to 10 how bad the pressure is..

8-9 with 10 being the worst
