Hey everyone...

It's been a while since I posted on here. I have been awake for about half an hour now; I woke up suddenly and lay there for a while feeling quite strange, woozy and not myself, all of a sudden I became extremely dizzy and I shot up and went to get a drink, by this point my heart was pounding through my chest and that brought on the chest pain and terror of death. I have been really struggling with this dizziness and it's really having a big impact on my education (not wanting to go to school). The doc said it's anxiety but I convince myself otherwise. Is dizziness a common symptom of anxiety? I feel I am going crazy. This is the worst it's been in a while.

Hi Tisdale,

Has your doctor done any blood tests to look for common causes, like thyroid disorders or electrolyte imbalances?

I too suffer from dizziness that feeds my anxiety and leads to panic and anxiety attacks frequently.
Some days I have none then bang it's back with a vengeance.
It's completely debilitating

Easy read article on a form of vertigo or dizziness that is caused by tiny calcium crystals in the inner ear that are harmless but causes tremendous dizziness.

There's exercises that can be done to land the crystals in a place where they don't cause dizziness. If this was your problem, your doctor could explain how to do them.

Also, dizziness is a common symptom of anxiety. I have had bouts of it over the years. Consider consulting with an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist if you remain concerned and have not yet done so.

Best wishes.
