I have had mild anxiety for a number of years. I have never sought medical help for this as I felt it could be overcome through attitude or reason or thinking, but I'm not so sure anymore. Invariably it happens when I am away from my family. The crazy thing is that I feel I have been so lucky in my life. I am, except when this occurs, a very happy and seemingly well-adjusted person. When anxiety occurs I walk the floor, play solitare, crosswords; but nothing seems to work. The real issue is that I can't seem to get to the reasons for the anxiety... Maybe that's not something that I can get to.... Any thoughts?

Therapy! I am a big advocate for it. It sounds like you want to figure out why you have mild anxiety, and that is where a therapist can come in and guide you, help you to find it. In some cases you can't find the reason, but I believe a therapist is so helpful, as long as you find the right one.

Good luck my friend.
