Hi everyone have just joined, I am having a bad day today ,started taking citilopram 20mg only took one last night at bedtime as i thought the side effects wouldnt be as bad i have taken them in the past but 10mg.Woken in the night with diahorrea and nausea, didnt really get much sleep as i felt really ill was also having palpitations.When i got up this morning i still felt spaced out ,am now scared to take the next dose was thinking of cutting the pill in half , would be grateful of any advice.

Hi there,
I often get bad side effects from my meds. My pdoc told me to take my meds at night so I sleep through any unwanted side effects but he said not to cut the pills as this makes then absorb quicker. Following this advice I have had less problems starting new meds. The side effects you may get usually settle down after a week or so.
