Scared speechless please help!

Was doing so good keeping my anxiety at bay. Then I came down with strep throat went to doctor Tuesday for shot and some other antibiotics . I woke up this morning and it has settled in my chest. I have never experienced such a raw and painful chest feeing in my life . My nose is stopped up and my cough is deep as well as my voice. My heart rate has now shot up to 150 and I am terrified! My doc office is closed today and I am really panicking! Am I getting enough oxygen I'm so scared please help!

Sweetie I think you're ok aside from having strep! :) if you slow down and think about it, anxiety causes chest pain and irregular heart beat. Add some antibacterial meds and an illness and things are bound to be out of whack. Something I've always found comforting is something my dad tells me: your heart IS beating and you ARE breathing which means you AREN'T dying. Chances are your hyperventilating right now which is making you dizzy too. Am I right? Strep is an infection that attacks the throat and sinuses, NOT your lungs. Pneumonia is where your lungs are weighted down with snot and nastiness. Only thing i can see that you might have need to be worried about is allergic reaction to the meds. You should look for hives and swelling. If there is none, you're likely just panicking. If there IS, find an urgent care center near you and they'll stick you with an epi pen. So sorry you aren't feeling well. I know my anxiety HATES it when i'm sick. Good luck to you and God bless.
