I'm here to help and get help with anxiety! It's at it's worst in my car driving and when I'm in a situation(at work) that makes me feel helpless. My breathing becomes short and I fell like I'm going to pass out! I take .5mg of avitan when needed. My doctor also prescribed me Zoloft but I really don't want to take it! I'm very active and have active job as well. I have gotten heart and brain test done before and came back fine! I usually could take caffeine and be fine but now it triggers the anxiety! I don't want to rely on the meds because I don't believe it's the answer to this issue. Hope to hear back some helpful insight!

Welcome!

I am new here too, always looking for tips and tricks on how to deal with anxiety without medication I possible. I have found caffeine to be a trigger for me as well, so if switching to decaf helps why not. I also had difficulty driving, especially by myself, 2 years later I'm slowly getting past it without rescue meds. Lots of 'tranquility' CD's in the car. Chewing gum keeping focus on splitting it into 3 separate sections works most of the time for me. Sounds silly but it got me through a 3000km drive alone without pills :) Feel free to drop me a message if you'd like, I have many other odd tricks that seem to be working for me.
All the best,
Kat

'Mirin those arms man. Are you nat or do you juice?

Yeah, you don't seem to be freaking out too much, so I don't think Zoloft is needed. I'd try working through a book like The Anxiety and Phobia workbook, around $10-15 on amazon. It will help you make small changes and get into a better place mentally.

Something like that should be enough for you really, you seem to have a pretty good hold on it.

Hi! I'm new here too :) I could use some tips because in my situation I can't take any type of sedative because of addiction problems. Besides that only seems to act on the symptoms not the cause. I'm not anti-pill though, if people can take them safely and get relief that's great, just doesn't work for me. Had a rough start again this morning. Dry heaves and endless worry!

Haha natural my friend, if I took juice I'd prolly have anxiety that my liver was shutting down or something lol, yea I'm not taking the Zoloft and appreciate the book recommendation. I feel my anxiety is a bit of health and GAD.

Your better off without them anyways and hope you can get over it through breathing techniques such as belly breathing. The meds are nice to have but becoming dependent on then is the downfall. I do my best to work through it without the meds until it gets very bad. If you do get on meds avitan is nice and only side effects for me is minor headaches. Good luck and wish you fast recovery!
