Were you panicking when you took the reading hun? Obviously that would be one cause. It's likely that your heart rate started to increase (underlying panic) and was worse when you realized it. That happens to me sometimes. If I feel anything off with my heart, it starts a whole chain of events. I'm sorry!!

Were you feeling fine, with a low heart rate, earlier today? Those numbers aren't as high as it gets. If you are really freaking out hun, maybe you need to be seen? Hugs!!

Don't be scared! Those readings aren't that bad! Those are normal for someone who is scared!

I don't know if this will help, but when I get kidney stones, my blood pressure gets so high that I've been 240/160 before and I didn't have a heart attack or stroke. My Mom has to take pills for her blood pressure, but that's only because it's something like 220/100 without her pills.

When I get nervous, my blood pressure is usually as high as what you are describing right now, but it's all to do with the anxiety.

Now it's 150/100 I cannot calm down

150/100 isn't going to give you a heart attack. I know you don't believe me, but a doctor wouldn't even be alarmed at all by that reading, especially if he knew you were terrified.

But what if it keeps climbing and goes into hypertensive crisis, my husband is so fed up with this I am just terrified right now

I don't think it helps that your husband is fed up. Then you feel like you have to not be afraid and once you feel that pressure, it's even harder to stop being scared.

Is there any way he can give you a hug or a back rub to help calm you down?

I doubt it will keep climbing, but even if it does, it doesn't mean you'll have a heart attack. Like I said, I get kidney stones which are extremely painful, so I get extremely high blood pressure. It's been as high as 240/160 before and I didn't die.

Being upset, no matter how upset you get, there's still a limit to how high your blood pressure can get in response. It won't get anywhere near as high as mine was when I had kidney stones.

The best way to ensure your health is for you to take whatever steps you can to calm down hun. Anything that you think will make it better. You have been through this before and came out on the other side - we all have. You will be ok!!

I guess I'm asking how long you can walk around like this with a high blood pressure this before you have a heart attack. I am beyond afraid

Those numbers are absolutely nothing to be concerned about! High blood pressure does not cause a heart attack. A blockage causes a heart attack. A ER dr would not even look twice at this. The top number would need to be at least 160 for it to be considered high. And even then it is no cause for concern if there are no pre existing conditions. I am an advanced life support nurse, please trust me when I say you will not have a hypertensive crisis or heart attack.
