I've suffered with anxiety and depression my entire life and struggle to find people that I can talk to about it, which is why I came here.

I am currently in counseling, but very worried because my anxiety is hurting my fiance a lot. It makes me scared to be around him and disgusted with myself, but I don't know how to turn it off.

He's a very nice man and forgives me, but admits that I hurt him sometimes with things like doubts and fears about our relationship.

My anxiety also interferes with my job and my sleep and I'm scared of it taking too much control over me and destroying my life.

Hi sweetypie. Welcome! It's good to meet you. I'm sorry you are struggling. A lot of people here can relate to what you're describing.

It's great you are in counseling. I'm wondering if you have ever been on any medication, such as an anti-depressant? Sometimes these meds are very helpful.

I've never been on any, but I've thought about being on some before. I've seen different therapists and so far none of them have brought up the subject of medication, even though they have said I had things like generalized anxiety disorder and agoraphobia before. (Although the agoraphobia is much better than it used to be.)

It sounds as if you need to go and talk to your doctor and get some professional help for your depression and anxiety. Sometimes they can get the right tablet straightaway and after just a few weeks you can feel so much better. Sorry didn't read that you are already getting counselling - hope it helps you.

There are also other things you can try such as meditation or CBT, talking therapies, all of which help too.

Please try and get some help it will make you and your boyfriend so much happpier.
