Hello everyone.

I've recently been diagnosed with a mild form of Anxiety, with a panic disorder to suit.

I'm 23 and it come on due to a recent split with my long term partner that came out of the blue.

I've decided against taking medication for now as its something I want to try and beat on my own with help from various self-help guides that i've been given from my GP.

Like all I have my good days and bad days, but i'm getting there slowly, so thought it was time I looked up a forum just to chat to other people in a similar situation as myself.

One thing i'd like to know, if this is the right place to ask, is about the thoughts of death. I'm not getting suicidal thoughts or feeling suicidal, but sometimes I find myself with thoughts about my death, is this a common thing or is it something I should do something about?

We have a very similar situation. My anxiety and panic attacks started when I was 23 as well. I am almost 26 now. Your question about death is very common with anxiety. Dont sweat it. What happens is that your body goes through the fight or flight response and you dont know why so you can only figure that something is wrong (which it isn't, most likely just stress) so you think about death. It is only a thought and you only give it power if you choose too. Anxiety doesn't hurt you, it is just an emotion and a response to stress. You will be fine.
