Hi, so i recently got a job but iam a temp employee for 3 months then theyll hite me. I was on cymbalta (no generic) and atavan and trazadone fir sleep. And with the crappy medical thru temp agency it only offers a discount on my pills(cymbalta). Total was $700!! For months supply. Any other reccs or natural alternative tempoarily? Or maybe another rx thats available generic thats somewhat the same as cymbalta? Maybe i could ask my dr about prozac or xanax? Any advice or help would be great!!!
I have been diagnosed with GAD and depression. Insomnia. And sometimes anxiety in crowded public places.

Does NY offer any state funded health programs you could look into - for say, people who make less than X amount per month? That's a shame that they charge so much for meds that people who need them can't afford them........

For one its important to note that some of those drugs you can't just stop taking. Depending how often you take the Ativan you can't go cold turkey. If you only use it once and a while you should be fine but if its a daily thing do not stop it. Not sure on the Cymbalta or the Trazadone but you need to find out.

Natural Alternative to Ativan would be: Natural Calm Magnesium, Rescue Remedy (More of a as needed thing to keep in your pocket), Gylcine, Taurine, Inositol, and Gaba (Works for many but doesn't work for all).

Those will also help with sleep and may help with depression.

For depression: Saint Johns Wort, 5-htp, Tryptophan, Same-e, Magnesium, Natural Calm Magnesium and some of the listed above.

Tyrosine and DLPA also work for depression but may be too stimulating for those with anxiety. For some it has cured their anxiety and others it aggravates it.

Also make sure to take a good multivitamin, vitamin D, fish oil, extra vitamin c, magnesium (as stated above), and maybe a b complex. The b complex helps most but can be too stimulating for some. I recommend a "Stress B Complex" several companies make it.

You can find all this info and more in a book called The Mood Cure By Julia Ross. It will help you over coming any mood disorders the natural way. And probably help with weight loss for those who want it.

Effexor XR(also an SNRI like Cymbalta), trazodone and ativan(lorazepam) are available in generic and all should be cheap that way from Costco.

Here's their online store locator as well.

In most states the public can use the Costco Pharmacy for prescriptions for free(you don't have to be a member). I'd ask to swap Cymbalta for generic effexor XR(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venlafaxine) and fill them there.
You can split 50mg trazodones to get 25mgs for sleep if that's the dose, etc. Pharmacies have pill splitters. Alankay
