Hello all:

I've been thinking about buying a book on how to help myself get past my anxiety. Was wondering if anyone knew of any great books to get me started. Thanks guys.

Hey there, John, I like anything by Claire Weekes. Her books are old, but I find them comforting. Here's a link to one of them: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0451167228/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=8856894997&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18604342992095335115&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_oa9pglyni_b

I also found Edmund Bourne's Anxiety and Phobia Workbook a good read because it's very comprehensive: http://www.amazon.com/Anxiety-Phobia-Workbook-Edmund-Bourne/dp/1572248912

Close the thread, tailspin has it solved :)

Both books were a great help to me when my anxiety was at its peak. Claire weeks sums it up perfectly, and the anxiety and phobia workbook is brilliant, very simple, and very complete. Covers all aspects of not only anxiety, but healthy fulfilled living too. A lot of worksheets, from cbt, to self esteem, to relaxation. It will no doubt improve your condition giving both a read!
