Alcohol and heart palps

Does anyone else ever wake up in the middle of the night with heart palpitations after drinking beer or wine ?

Not necessarily in the middle of the night but maybe the next day, yeah. How much beer/wine are we talking here? Alcohol is one of the many things on the list that can cause heart palpitations. Are the heart palpitations waking you up or is it something else? Because alcohol in small amounts can help some people sleep but larger amounts actually prevent a good night's rest. Any amount of alcohol for me keeps me up.

In other words, going to bed drunk can keep you awake enough to feel them happening.
