So my name is Rori. I am a woman with BiPolar disorder and I don't remember if it's I or II but it's the lesser of the two. I also struggle with and have been for years now, anxiety disorder and more recently I have been having panic attacks...the kinda that wakes me out of my sleep and I bolt for the door. Not fun! But I thought that maybe it would be helpful to talk with people who experience the same thing so that it doesn't feel so centralized and alone.....anyway, I am excited to be here and hope to get to know you all well in the future. :P

Hi Rori! I'm new too. I don't have any sort of bi-polar disorder, but I'm a good listener so if you ever need to talk give me a shout!

Thank you both for your welcoming words....just knowing I have this outlet makes me feels that there is progress happening. It's relieving to know that I am not alone in my fight against Anxiety/Panic.....thank you again! :D

Hi Rori! I am new here too. Your post really connected with me because it souns like we have alot in common!
My name is Melanie and I too have Bipolar II (that is the less severe one). I have never been diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder - my doctors say that the anxiety symptoms and panic attacks are a part of the Bipolar disorder, not a separate disorder of its own.
I have had alot of ups and downs over the past 3 years. I was treated for depression for 2 1/2 years before they realized that it was actually Bipolar that I had. I have been off work several times since 2004, with the last bout being off for 4 months from May to October. I had my second manic episode in April, then dropped to a severe depression in May. My Gramdmother passed away on June 4, while I was in the depressed state as well. So, yeah, my summer wasn't very good, to say the least.
I am doing OK now. I am taking Seroquel for the Bipolar, and trying to manage the Anxiety with natural methods. I am back to work part-time so that is good.
Anyway, I'm rambling now! so I'll shut up now. I look forward to "meeting" others who are in a similar situation to mine.
