Hi just joined. I've suffered from anxiety for years and seemed to be coping. Recently it's been getting worse and worse. Went to the doc who gave me citroplan but the side effects look horrendous. I've asked for a different med and have been given a beta blocker.

All anti-depressants have side effects. You should be ok. Sometimes people (like myself also) spend too much time worrying about taking the med that we don't allow it to work.

A beta-blocker should probably only be used once in a while not all the time.

I was given this the past two Octobers (fall seems to trigger almost unbearable anxiety for me) - I had NO issues. In fact, I felt like it really helped me cope so much. I was having awful anxiety, sleeplessness and intrusive thoughts and after a week in Citalopam ... I was feeling better. Less scary thoughts, definately getting through my days and it just got better from there.

Anyway- I had great luck with it! I hope your new medicine works well for you!
