I've been taking a Magnesium supplement for a while now and it hasn't done much of anything that I can tell. Once I'm out of the one I've been taking I may try another kind and I can only hope that maybe it will be somewhat more effective. Other vitamin deficiencies can cause these kinds of symptoms as well...my doctor recommended a Vitamin B complex and D3. I take them, along with the Magnesium, as well as Fish Oil and Acidophilus on a daily basis.

I have tried 3 magnesium supplements so far...

Slow-Mag (mg chloride plus calcium) - excellent relief of my anxiety symptoms (freaky head sensations, panic, foggy headed, etc).

Cardio Research Mg Taurate - no noticeable effects.

Natural Calm Mg Citrate powder - no noticeable effects except loose stools.

I have also taken (and still do several days per week) GNC multi-mineral - similar effects as the Slow-Mag.

So, for me, the mg seems to work only if taken with the calcium.

Is Slow-Mag something I'd be able to get in the UK?

I wonder if its actually the calcium that is giving you relief. Have you tried taking calcium alone?

I have not. Likely I am low on all my minerals because my diet was pretty bad for many years. However, I'm pretty sure I got plenty of calcium in my dairy-rich diet. And the symptoms I had were those of a magnesium (as well as Vit B) deficiency, not those of a calcium deficiency.
