Hi everyone.
I'm not yet diagnosed, but I'll be telling soon about my symptoms. I know I'm scared of life, have this panic or something that keeps me from doing things that I like and stuff I must do to survive. Depression, anxiety.
Sometimes when I drink a glass of liquid, I feel my heavy, quick breathing, like if I don't have enough space inside to take more air into my lungs. I used to smoke, but for a short period. Nowadays I just don't touch a cigarette, or drink.
I know I'm not making any type of exercise, but with this racing heart beat I feel scared of going out and exercise.
I know I'm on depression, because I'm a musician and I love music, but just don't feel like executing a single note.
Thanks for this wonderful app.

It gets better bud a little exercise can help, its easy to say but its harder to do.
But it is just stress.mind over matter..
But i too know that somtimes you cant stop the fear or racing thoughts....hang in there.

From my experience there isn't a quick fix. Don't get me wrong, some one off things have helped me on the odd time. Classical music can help, as can relaxing sounds - I used an app on my phone. Reading books is helping me a bit, as is trying to take in my surroundings more and therefore escaping myself. I've tried meditation a few times too.
I'm convinced that the answer lies in training your brain, hence I'm reading up on cbt and trying to apply it as much and as often as possible. Don't forget regular meals as well. Skipping dinner doesn't help me!

That's great, thanks. I forgot the exercise part. I used to do a lot in the past years and helped. I just felt lost.

Reading and classical music. I will do that. After all, I'm a musician. I'll do it as you say, thank you so much.

My girl suffered from a hysterectomy and began changing her way of thinking abruptly ( because of loss of hormones ) and after a year of being together decided to be apart, always had an argument for everything, I couldn't believe the change she took. There was no try for me, no chance. After all we had together and with our families. I know I'm still struggling with it inside, but meanwhile I realized I'm like stuck, like feeling a force that doesn't allow me to do the things I enjoy, like music making, going out to a party, etc. everything seems like a big overwhelming task, and if I feel that the time allowed to do the task is near, I start feeling this pressure in the back of my head, like holding the air inside. It feels like something inside of me is resisting to live.

The idea is to take your mind off to somewhere else for a while. Let it use its thoughts for imagination rather than all the other rubbish that it wastes its time on.

I can confirm that exercise really helps, I used to be a long distance runner when I was younger and never suffered from any kind of anxiety to speak of. Now, when I'm really suffering, I get out and run 9 or 10km and I feel great afterwards. It doesn't last a long time but the more I do it the longer it lasts. I guess it's because you burn off your adrenaline, whatever it is, I think exercise genuinely does help.
If you are concerned about your heart rate etc, maybe it's worth just checking in with your GP to see if he is cool with you exercising?

Hope you are doing ok and this advice has given you a bit of respite. It won't solve everything but might give you a chance to recharge a bit ready for the battle ahead. Perservere and you can do it!!

Hi Roland,
I have anxiety and I know now that my girlfriend sets it off. Relationships can have a huge effect on anxiety. When I tell her that I can't handle what she's telling me at the moment, it makes her more emotional, and in turn increase's my anxiety. your breakup might be a healthy move for now.
