When I was first diagnosed with Panic Disorder and possible General Anxiety Disorder and Depression, I was put on Zoloft. I had a REAL bad panic attack that day which prompted me to go to the doctor. Zoloft helped greatly, but my coworkers were telling me to get off it ASAP. Well, I made an appointment to see my physician (which the doctor who prescribed me with Zoloft said I needed to see him ASAP because of my crazy EKG results) I was put on Citalopram aka Celexa. I was excited because that is what my mom was on and it was the only Anti-depressant she took that didn't have negative results. I guess it is different for different people, because a couple weeks of being on Citalopram began bringing back my anxiety symptoms and on top of that, gave me CRAZY hunger pangs which added to my anxiety. After I began feeling it, I did what I am not really supposed to do (and I will admit it) I stopped taking it. I've only had one major panic attack since then, but all together a lot less anxiety spells than I had ON Citalopram. This was only on the small 20 mg once a day pill.

Why drop the zoloft? Did you think a funny EKG was caused by it? Listen to docs on these not coworkers. Reconsider the zoloft. Alankay

No, not what I meant. I went to my regular physician because he wanted another EKG because the EKG results at the walk-in clinic were alarming. The doctor at the walk-in clinic prescribed me zoloft and when I went to see my physician, he prescribed citalopram instead without asking me about zoloft. Actually i told him zoloft was working well for me.
