Any one on the trycillic meds??

Just wondering if anyone is on or has been on the older anti depressants (Trycillics)
Like ,Dosulepin ,Amitriptaline ,???
Not the ssri's .
I'm curious as I'm on Dosulepin because all the others I've tried haven't helped . Although I'm not sure I've tried all of them, I've certainly tried a good few over the years !!

yup im on dosulepin i dont find it great.. all it does to me is makes me sleep at night but doesnt help with my anxiety atall.. but that does mean it wont for you.

I'm on amitryptiline 25 mg. It helps me to sleep but I'm getting vivid dreams as a side effect. Cannot comment on its anti anxiety effects as I've just started it.

My doc says that dosulepin & amitriptaline are similar but decided on dosulepin for me . He's just increased my dose . I don't know if its going to work . All I know is I still feel anxious & depressed x

Why has he put you on TCAs? Are SSRIs not working for you?

SSRI'S don't seem to work for me . In the past ive tried quite a few . Prozac, cymbalta,sertraline,citralopam,abilify,mitrazapine ,lofipremine,Quiteipine .
Non of which worked for me & some caused me to feel horrendous .

I'm at a loss . Nothing seems to help :-(

Do you have anxiety or depression or both? If both, which bothers you more?

I have both . Anxiety is bad but so is depression . Suppose if I had to say it would be anxiety

I suffer both anxiety and depression, my anxiety is really bad and struggle daliy my depression is bad but anxiety is alot worse xo
