Eye Dilation

So, I woke up this morning and my left eye felt like it was straining. It wasn't red or itchy, but as the morning went on, the straining got worse and turned into a headache behind the eye. I went to the eye doc immediately and they did an exam and found that my prescription in my left eye had improved and I have an astigmatism. Has anyone heard of vision in your eye improving? Then they had to dialate my eyes....they are STILL dialated........I've been sitting here with sunglasses on all day...
I was actually able to get through it without any major anxiety....whoo hoo.....but still, has anyone heard of vision getting better after wearing glasses and contacts for years?
