you should try and associate your bed with only two things. Sleeping and sexual activity. I used to have alot of trouble sleeping. Dont watch tv in bed, dont read in bed. So you can find some relaxation when you climb in under the covers. Do a little bit to try and relax before bed aswell, maybe a hot shower or some chamomile tea, that stuff helped me.

I used to get anxiety attacks at night, I remember I was scared to go to bed because all I could think about was another attack and a sleepless , scary night. I still wake up at night after having a bad dream feeling like I'm going to have an attack but somehow I manage to sort of talk myself out of it. It's a good idea to take something to calm you down before you go to bed. I heard that from many people with anxiety.
Smile, you're not alone.

That's the time it's the worst for me. I used to just take a Valerian or have a herbal tea that calms you (lots of different brands out there called Sleeptime, Calm etc.) That worked until it got really bad. Meditation helps too but you need to meditate at least 1 hour before bedtime.

Yup. I used to have panic attacks, i've learned how to prevent and control them for a while now. But I absolutely related to your issue. You wake up in the middle of the night and your heart is pounding or your extremities feel numb. Sometimes i would wake up and have trouble breathing and feel as if i was going to die.

Panic attacks can be the most difficult to control when they're nocturnal because you're not dealing with them in a lucid state of mind. Your emotions are reactive. The second you wake up, you immediately (like a reflex) must talk yourself down.

I drink Sleepytime tea before bed as it soothes my anxiety away and leaves me calm for a good nights sleep.
