Hi folks

I'm new here today and was looking for some advice please?
I've suffered anxiety/panic attacks/agoraphobia for the last 20 years..I'm 45 now and have tried so many treatments and courses to no avail..I've even had to quit my job because of my anxiety..at the moment I've read that some people have a magnesium deficiency that brings on anxiety so I'm trying that..anxiety has destroyed my family life for which I truly hate it..I wake each morning Hoping today is going to be a good day but its the same old anxiety..

Hello there I have had the same for over 20
Years on and off,I'm now 38 a mum of two and wife so I know how it can affect your family time.
Are you on any Meds?

I've been on citalopram for years 20mg ones..I assume they are working but I do have anxiety every day..I go to the doctors for help but all I ever get is repeat prescriptions..I would give 10 years of my life to 5 years free from it.. We sufferers just have to grin and bear it and just get on with it when really some days are just about survival..the thing that does get me down is not being able to walk anywhere alone because of the agoraphobia..I'm a family man and live for my wife and family but we can never go far because of my anxiety..

Yes that must be very hard for you, have you ever asked for propanol? It's a beta blocker and you can take it will your other Meds as I've been on and off of it for years( that's all I was taking up untill four weeks ago and I'm now on sertraline 50g.i think it's well worth asking

I can't remember if I've tried propanol before but I have tried sertraline before but it didnt agree with me so I went back onto citalopram..I have spells where I can cope then it flares up and I'm back to square one again..when I was younger I was never in the house now I never get out
