I have been taking buspar 5mg three times a day now for two weeks for GAD. I felt an effect (maybe just a side effect that seemed therapeutic) the first few days, but I feel like I'm taking a sugar pill now. I do not even feel any side effects anymore which is surprising, because I am very sensitive to medications - intolerant to all SSRIs. My question is, should I wait until the dose is titrated up too see if this medication will work? I understand it can take weeks to a month or more for full effect, but I feel absolutely nothing. I wish I felt even 10% better, and then I would stick with it hoping it would improve. I guess I'm looking for an answer like, you can't judge buspar until you're on, say 30mg per day.. or something. I am losing hope finding any medication that will work. Ativan 0.5 mg once/day gives me good relief but I know I can't take that long term. I haven't even been taking it because I really want to figure out if buspar is helping at all. My psych NP and I talked about going the herbal route if this doesn't work. I also do CBT with a therapist.

I hate Buspar, it is the worst. It actually made matters worse for me. Peace!
